Do you accept insurance?

Personal Psychiatry is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance (including Medicare/Medicaid). If you have commercial insurance, you may request a superbill for a percentage reimbursement of the cost (based on your specific insurance plan). For those participating in Medicare only that would like to receive treatment, please schedule a phone consultation to discuss options. Patients with Medicaid cannot be scheduled at this time.

A good faith estimate will be provided explaining how much your medical care will cost in accordance with the law. Healthcare providers are required to provide patients without insurance or not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical services.

What payments do you accept?

A credit card on file is required for all appointments. Initial assessments and consultations will require a 50% deposit (non-refundable) at the time of booking, with the remainder collected the day of the appointment.

• Cancellations for initial assessments and consultations made less than 3 days will be charged the full rate.

• Cancellations for follow ups made less than 48 hours will be charged the full rate.

• Missed appointments will be charged the full rate, including initial assessments and consultations.

• At this time, Personal Psychiatry does not accept HSA/FSA as forms of payment.
  

Do you offer virtual/telehealth appointments?

Personal Psychiatry only offers virtual appointments at this time for patients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Virtual appointments are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant and secure video platform. You must be physically located in the states of Pennsylvania or New Jersey at the time of your appointment to receive services.

What type of one-time consultations do you provide?

If you currently have a prescriber (either psychiatric or another medical specialty) and are in need of some additional guidance or considerations, Personal Psychiatry specializes in mental health care for older adults and navigating mental health needs while managing multiple medical conditions. Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) or forms for worker’s compensation, long-term disability, FMLA or other such needs will not be completed during initial treatment evaluations nor one-time consultations.

What should I do in an emergency?

Please call 988 or go to your closest emergency room/crisis center for emergent needs. Personal Psychiatry is not available for emergency services and does not provide emergency treatment.
