Frequently asked questions.

Do you accept insurance?

Personal Psychiatry is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance (including Medicare/Medicaid). If you have commercial insurance, you may request a superbill for a percentage reimbursement of the cost (based on your specific insurance plan). For those participating in Medicare only that would like to receive treatment, please schedule a phone consultation to discuss options.

What payments do you accept?

A credit card on file is required for all appointments. Initial assessments and consultations will require a 50% deposit at the time of booking, with the remainder collected the day of the appointment.

  • Cancellations for initial assessments and consultations made less than 7 days will be charged the full rate.

  • Cancellations for follow ups made less than 48 hours will be charged the full rate.

  • Missed appointments will be charged the full rate, including initial assessments and consultations.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Personal Psychiatry only offers virtual appointments at this time. Virtual appointments are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant and secure video platform. You must be physically located in the states of Pennsylvania or New Jersey at the time of your appointment to receive services.

What should I do in an emergency?

Please call 988 or go to your closest emergency room/crisis center for emergent needs. Personal Psychiatry is not available for emergency services and does not provide emergency treatment.
