About Dr. Chandra

Treatment Philosophy

Dr. Seetha Chandrasekhara (“Dr. Chandra”) believes in a personalized approach. She will collaborate with you; taking your unique experiences into consideration while you work together to improve your concerns. She maintains a holistic perspective towards mental health since it impacts every aspect of our wellbeing. This ensures that you will be treated as a whole person rather than a diagnosis.

Education and Training

Dr. Chandra is double-boarded in general and geriatric psychiatry. She received her undergraduate degree from Lehigh University in Behavioral Neuroscience. She earned her medical degree and completed her psychiatry residency training at Temple University School of Medicine. During her last year of residency, she served as Chief Resident along with completing her master’s degree in Urban Bioethics. She went on to complete fellowship training in geriatric psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. She was recognized for excellence in service and teaching during her training.

Experience

Dr. Chandra has many years of experience through her work as an inpatient, outpatient and integrated care psychiatrist. She has particular expertise in caring for older adults and managing psychiatric symptoms in the context of complex medical conditions. She was awarded for her teaching and service during her time as an assistant professor of clinical psychiatry at Temple by the psychiatry residency and the hospital. Her dedication to the care of her patients and collaboration with her medical colleagues led to her inclusion in Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Doctors since 2022. She shares her clinical knowledge through direct mentorship, clinical teaching and has been invited to present regionally and nationally.
